The Wicker Chair Coffee House and Bistro is the trading arm of JET, a local charity based in Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne. JET helps people who are most in need to find a job or training opportunities, as well as become active members if their communities. We encourage community cohesion and personal health and wellbeing through a variety of projects, ranging from careers advice, women only and integration projects. ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) programmes, specific to the job market, creative projects and programmes around volunteering. Most of our work is around employment support as many of our clients have English as a Second Language, including Refugees from around the world and little experience of the UK job market.
